JL

JL is a Montpelier, VT based producer. Inspired by his addiction to digging and collecting vinyl, JL’s production sound spans genres and incorporates many styles. Boom bap and pop punk can be found in the same playlist, as well as many other styles sandwiched in-between. While “Next Summer” (Equal Eyes Records, 2018) was a nod to JL’s love of funk, JL cut his teeth producing diverse tracks for Boomslang (Self titled, 2014 and Attack the Vampire, 2017) and Champagne Dynasty (Self Titled, 2011) as a member of each group. In addition, years of working in the production duo Magnificent Bang, with long time collaborator Knayte Lander (also of Champagne Dynasty), yielded tracks with much live instrumentation and one-off song production for other artists. Plans for a third Boomslang album are in the works for 2019, as well as a full album collaboration with Question the MC and an EP with Champagne Dynasty.
