The Story > My long time friend Nat Woodard reached out to me randomly during the making this of this album to let know that (even though we hadn’t connected for many years) he had been making some new beats and thought of me. When I asked if he was sending me stuff to possibly be a part of this project, he replied “What’s GUMBO? I’m not on social media at all really”. So… he literally just reached out because the universe told him to. This steady rocking riddim is such an integral part of this and I am so blessed that the beautiful soul that is Miriam Bernardo created this yearning chorus asking if a partner was hearing the calls to truly listen. The amazing Rob Morse crushed the live bass on this and Urian Hackney helped Nat find its final tone. Bless up.
