The Story > When I was searching for a name to give to this massive collaborative album, I wanted it to encompass and describe the multitude of flavors this project contains. A friend suggested the word ‘GUMBO’. When I looked up its definition and description, I knew I had found the answer.
That is because: “GUMBO… is an incredibly versatile and distinct concoction of flavors created with an infinite myriad of possibilities in its preparation and presentations. It is a definitive example of the melting-pot nature of Southern cooking that crosses all class barriers, appearing on the tables of the poor as well as the wealthy. Although it’s multitude of ingredients may often vary greatly from one serving to the next, a steaming bowl of fragrant gumbo is one of life’s most cherished pleasures. The number of options for its unusual but delicious combinations are virtually endless”.
